#ChallengeDerbyshire was formed in 2015 to raise money for our three amazing charities, Ashgate Hospicecare, Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen's Trust.
We have now smashed through our £1 million target and we're not going to stop! We are so lucky to have these three charities, working together we can ensure we keep them for the years to come.
COVID19 UPDATE: As expected, the current situation has resulted in unprecedented levels of demand on our three charities due to the pressures of this outbreak. Ashgate Hospicecare, Blythe House Hospicecare and Helen's Trust have become a critical part of the fight against coronavirus as they strive to care for as many patients as possible and ease the pressure on the NHS. By taking additional patients from local hospitals they are helping the NHS to care for the rising numbers of people who are seriously unwell with the virus.
Now more than ever before they need our continued help and support!

ELIOT KENNEDY CONCERT FOR
Just a few of the fabulous famous faces who appeared at the fantastic Eliot Kennedy's 50th Birthday Celebration last year! With all proceeds from the event going to #ChallengeDerbyshire and our three amazing charities, we wanted to say a huge big thank you to Eliot, the band, the artists and absolutely everyone involved in this truly incredible evening!

ANNUAL CHARITY BALL
The third annual #ChallengeDerbyshire Charity Ball took place in February 2020 and once again saw a host of wonderful local businesses come together to show their incredibly generous support for our three amazing charities. An outstanding amount of over £200,000 was raised on the night, smashing through the million pounds raised barrier!!

OUR THREE AMAZING CHARITIES
Blythe House Hospicecare provides free services to patients and families in the High Peak and surrounding communities who are affected by life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease.
The hospice also supports those who are bereaved. The 24/7 Hospice at Home service provides palliative and end of life care to patients who wish to be supported in the comfort of their own home.
Since April 2020, Blythe House has worked in partnership with Helen’s Trust to provide more care to patients across the High Peak, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire.

Ashgate Hospicecare provides care to patients across North Derbyshire at the hospice and in the community.
For patients with the most complex of needs, they have an Inpatient Unit. However, most of their patients are cared for at home, where a team of specialist nurses and healthcare professionals enable them to stay in familiar surroundings for as long as possible.

Helen’s Trust works in partnership with Blythe House Hospicecare to provide 24/7 hospice care in the comfort of patient’s homes across the High Peak, Derbyshire Dales and North East Derbyshire.
Referrals are made to the team for a variety of reasons including respite sits so that a carer can get some much-needed rest or to run errands; to get a patient home from the hospital; crisis avoidance, where a family is in need of support quickly to help with a potentially distressing or emotional situation, and for end of life care when a patient is in the final weeks or days of life.
